Moteur : 4.2L Inline-Six Origine : USA This 1966 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 OTS is a highly elegant left-hand-drive example of one of the most iconic British sports cars ever produced. Finished in Dark Blue Metallic with a Grey leather interior and a blue soft top, it presents a particularly refined and timeless colour combination. Delivered new through New York, this E-Type is accompanied by its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, confirming its factory records and documenting its important identification details. The car was dispatched on 5 January 1967 and retains its matching numbers engine, an important point for collectors and enthusiasts. As a late Series 1 4.2, this example combines the pure original design of the early E-Type with the usability improvements introduced with the 4.2-litre generation. The Series 1 remains the most celebrated version of the model, recognisable by its covered headlights, slim bumpers and beautifully balanced proportions. The 4.2-litre XK engine did not transform the E-Type into a radically different car compared with the earlier 3.8, but it brought a more flexible and usable character, with improved torque and easier road manners. Paired with the manual gearbox, it delivers the engaging and charismatic driving experience for which the E-Type remains so admired. One of the key advantages of the 4.2-litre cars is the introduction of a fully synchronised manual gearbox, making them significantly more pleasant to drive than the earliest 3.8-litre examples. The 4.2 also brought a more comfortable cabin, including improved seating, making it one of the most appealing versions for those who wish to enjoy the car on the road rather than simply admire it. This car was restored around 20 years ago, with a photographic file accompanying the vehicle. The restoration has aged well and the car presents today as an attractive, usable and well-kept example rather than an over-restored concours piece. Currently showing 72,350 km, this Series 1 4.2 OTS LHD offers a very desirable combination: left-hand drive configuration, manual transmission, matching numbers engine, Jaguar Heritage Trust documentation and the elegant usability of the later Series 1 4.2 cars.
